I'm really kinda... clueless on this. Even in the Bible, demon possession is rare. And all the incidents with angels were pretty pivotal. Jesus said he'd send the Spirit, not a squadron of angels. I mean I know they exist, because the Bible states that very specifically, it's just you seem to make them too active. Particularly when you said about a "demon of fear". Attributing normal emotions to supernatural involvement can eventually lead to false teaching. For instance I remember there was a small sect that attributed all of their members sins to a type of demon. Demon of lust, demon of hate, demon of greed, bla bla bla. Now i don't think you take it that far, it just seems like you make them too prominent. Sorry if this post was a little jumbled.

I agree with JC. Perhaps it's my deistic leanings but I am very hesitant to attribute normal feelings and events that have completely logical and rational explanations to something outside of the normal. No doubt miracles can happen and I would agree that demons and angels exist but I think mankind and the church has a tendency to point to something they can't explain and label it as supernatural. I think there is a lot of psychological factors that are involved with the human mind that we don't completely understand and I would hazard a guess that it's the mind that is the explanation for a lot of what we consider demonic today.

I think that demons are active in our world (but not quite as strong as Tommy said). Like said above I'm hesitant to attribute everything bad that happens to demonic activity. But I still think that they are out-and-about so to speak. In answer to what Tommy said in the culture topic: I'm not very comfortable with commanding demons to leave when you are being tempted, I prefer pray that God would remove the temptation and/or that He would help you stand up during it.
1 Corinthians 10:13 (New International Version) 13No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

Matthew 10:8 8Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. 1 Peter 5:8 8Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Ephesians 6:12 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Tommy, I think you're taking those verses out of context. All but the first are not even talking about demons.

Colossians 2:10 10and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.

That is taken out of context as well, will you please write more than a verse but explain what you think that verse means.

p.s. there is difference between faith and being a stupid absent minded thingy who has no faith whatsoever and couldn't act more like a heathen if he wanted to! p.p.s. and just saying "Jesus please make them leave" yeah but its like ummm when you are learning to ride a bike and your loving daddy is helping you along and you don't want him to let you go but he says you need to go on your own. You need to take you authority in Christ Jesus and take authority over demons saying go away won't work! I could cry because of the little faith that the youth group has, just imagine how God feels, JC you have your opinion, Demons, they are real, Satan is real as ever they are scared of you, but they are also scared that you will finally take your authority in Christ and kick their butt! Demons can attach to anything they are smart, stupid and vile but smart they have been around since the beginning of time. they know everything, people believe tarot cards and other things like that because demons know everything they are everywhere even in the church if you want to think pretending they aren't there or that Wicca isn't real then go right ahead, let Satan succeed by fooling you into thinking that nothing like that could ever happen, and I am sorry if that happens, I am and have been praying for my youth group.
Demons are real, and they are every where, in the Bible it says if you rebuke a demon it will wonder for a time but will return with demons 10xs stronger than itself. I am not sure of the reference but it is in the Bible.
The wind will blow on everybody And rain will fall on us all And if the, weather of my life Is not like I want it, still I’ll survive through the storm! ‘Cause I’m convinced I’m persuaded I will not be separated From the love I have in You ‘Cause neither death or life can severe Neither height or depth could measure the love You have And my love for You ==================================================================
Well this was the last post that got this started up again. Please take a look at the This or That Game for the past posts. Now to get this kicked right off, here's my points.
1: God protects us. Demons don't latch onto us without God's permission. They aren't more powerful than him, they aren't more knowledgable than him, and if you remember the story of Job, Satan needs to go before God for everything concerning his children. We are God's children and demons won't harm us under his protection.
2: The verse is in Matthew and goes something like: "When a demon leaves a man, it wanders through barren places and does not find rest. Then it says to itself, 'I will return to the house I left,' and when it returns it finds the house swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and brings with it 7 demons worse than itself to live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first." This verse refers to those who claimed they were able to drive out demons, but had no real power over them. An example would be the Pharisees who said, "It is by the prince of demons that he (Jesus) drives out demons!" when they saw he had power and they didn't.
3: These powers are real. I'm not denying that in the least. But notice that you said about them attaching to tarot cards and such. Those are open invitations to Satan. If you go to Satan and ask, "Give me some power!" or, "Give me something to do. I'm bored," then he will quickly oblige you. You have the choice to offer yourself to one of two masters. Once you offer yourself to one he will guard you ferociously. Satan doesn't give up footholds in a life easily, and God doesn't abandon his children.

okay..
1. NO DUH! but like in job he will allow them to attack, just because we are christians does NOT mean we won't be attacked by demons! they will attack us, thats why God gave us power to defeat them. Like they say "No pain no gain" if we are childish and do not want to stand up to them then we will always be babies.
2. if you do not bind the demons of retalieation they WILL come back. demons can and will attatch themselves to anything and everything they can, a sweater, pencil anything, that is why when you buy something used you should ask God to cleanse it and apply his blood over it.
3. God does protect us yes, but he wants us to face them thats why he gives us trials to overcome them with his help yes but not with every decision like " OH LORD PLEASE HELP ME KNOW IF IT IS YOUR WILL TO GET OUT OF BED!" we can make our own decisions, yes, but pretending that we will never have to deal with demons is a bunch of thingy we will have to deal with them, I am not a baby and with God's help i can do everything! I have heard people in the chruch telling other christians to watch Harry Potter and to think "narnia" which is stupid hp is all about witchcraft it even says it in the advertisment for it! hp teaches that you can fight evil with "good" evil which is thingy it is foolish to watch that.

1) Read the story of Job. He bound no demons. He petitioned God with prayer, asking Him to take care of things because they're in his hands.
2) If they're so prolific, how come there aren't more instances of demon attack?
3)Of course God doesn't want us to ask Him if we need to get out of bed. He's told us to do things we can't do if we lay in bed, so getting up goes without saying. Binding demons is on a bit of a different level. In the Bible, I have NEVER seen a report of a Christian being demon possessed. Nor have I ever read an account of the possessed driving out their own demons. It was always done by someone else in the name of the Lord Jesus, or by Jesus himself.
